Subject Who Fired On Police, Died As A Result Of Police Gun Fire

VIGO COUNTY, Ind – More details have been released in the investigation into a police involved shooting this past weekend.

The autopsy and forensic evidence has revealed that Errol K. Bolin of Seelyville did die as the result of a gunshot wound from a law enforcement officer.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department Deputy, Elias A. Donker , who was involved in the gunfire exchange on April 11, 2020, has been placed on administrative leave which is customary procedure.  Deputy Donker has two years of service on the force.

Indiana State Police are continuing their investigation.

Police were called to western Vigo County last weekend (4/11/20) about a suspicious person.

When officers arrived they used their public address system to try to make contact with the suspect. That is when that suspect, later identified as Bolin opened fire on officers.

Bolin was killed in an exchange of gun fire with officers.

Vigo County Jail records indicate that he had been booked into the jail on 10 different occasions on various drug and domestic violence charges.
