CLAY COUNTY, Ind.  – The Clay County Health Department is reporting the first COVID-19 death in that county.

The health department says an adult died in a hospital on Monday.

The State of Indiana says there are 19 cases of the coronavirus in Clay County.

Furhter information about the death will not be released due to privacy laws.

The health department says no other information will be released in order to protect the privacy of the family of the person who passed away.

This death has not yet been reflected in data on the State Department of Health website.
