Police Investigate Death Of Inmate At Carlisle Prison

Sullivan County – Indiana State Police were called to the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Sullivan county Sunday to investigate the death of 32-year-old Jeremiah Roberts, of Texas who was an inmate.

Around 6:00 a.m. Sunday morning prison staff found Roberts unresponsive in his cell.

He died before reaching the local hospital.

Investigators suspect foul play and are treating the death as a homicide.

An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow (5/5/20) at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Roberts had been in prison since January of 2017.

Police are continuing to investigate.
