INDIANAPOLIS — The coronavirus forcing more Hoosiers out of work.

Almost 44,000 people filed for unemployment in Indiana last week, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

That’s down from 55,774 from the week before, a change of 11,997.

About 612,000 Hoosiers have filed for unemployment over the last seven weeks.

The Dept. of Labor says 3.1 million people across the U.S. filed for unemployment last week.
