Wabash Valley Counties Have Some Of The Lowest Unemployment In The State

INDIANA – On Tuesday the Indiana Department of Workforce Development released the April county unemployment rankings.

No Wabash Valley Counties were in the Top 10.

Vigo County was the highest local county on the list with an unemployment rate of 17.1% placing 48th highest out of the states 92 counties.

Vermillion County was next at 49th place with a rate of 16.9%

Sullivan County was in 62nd place at 15.7%.

Putnam County was in 68th place at 14.4%

Clay County was in 70th position at 14.1%

Parke County was in 82 position at 11.8%

The highest unemployment rate in the state was in Howard County at 34.1%

The lowest unemployment rate was in Davies County at 8.1%

The state average was 17.1%
