Jimmy Neal Pershing, 76, aka “The Persh” resident of Springhill Village in Terre Haute, IN passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at IU University Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born July 13, 1943 in Linton, IN to Jacob Pershing Jr. and Zelma (Black) Pershing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Ronald Pershing, Virginia Carole (Pershing) Like, Betty Lou (Pershing) Vester, and Jacob “Buddy” Pershing III and grandsons: Trey Sheese and Evan Pershing

Jimmy is survived by his children: Michelle Pershing, Amy Pershing, Jill (Pershing) McCullough, Chris Pershing, and Carrie (Pershing) Bonfer, grandchildren: Kameron Michael, Katie Michael, Jacob McCullough, Samantha (McCullough) and Travis Padgett, Chandler Morris, and Matthew Bonfer, great-grandsons aka “Papaw’s Boys”: Kamal Baker, Daemon Herrera-Michael, Kadrian Lewis, and Liam Padgett, and great-granddaughter Lily Padgett, step-mother: Virginia (Vester) Pershing, siblings: Letha Marie (Pershing) and Randy Monnett, Michael and Mica Pershing, Chuck and Sally Pershing, and Randell Pershing and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Jimmy was a graduate of Garfield High School where he participated on the basketball team and lived his life laboring in Asphalt and Seal-Coating. He enjoyed drawing, painting, playing bingo and cards, sports, and the outdoors especially boating and cooking out with family. His great-grandchildren were his pride and joy and he made sure they had money and ice cream every summer.

Jimmy by taking care of your heart and follow your Cardiologist (Thank you Dr. Nasser), spend time with your family by dining or cooking out, playing games, watching sports, dance around the house to Barry White, and spoil your grand and great-grandchildren. A visitation for Jimmy will be held on Saturday, June 6 at Samaritan funeral Home from 1-3:00 PM with services starting at 3:00 PM.
