Local Group To Benefit From New Housing Money

West Terre Haute, Ind. – The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority announced $13 million in grants for nine rural communities in the Hoosier state. The funds are to be used to create or preserve affordable housing.

Locally one of the one of those that will receive funds will be Providence Housing Corporation in West Terre Haute.

Providence Place is a corporation that provides affordable housing for those who need it.

Their 20-acre site is for limited income seniors and is made up of 64 apartments and 17 single family homes.

The new monies will be used to expand available housing for those they serve.
