Michael “Mike” Wayne Nichols, 64, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020 at his home in Brazil following a brief battle with colon cancer. He was born on October 19, 1955 in Greencastle to the late Charlie and Beverly (McCullough) Nichols. Mike attended North Putnam High School, and served his country in the United States Army. He married Debbie Atkeson on July 10, 1981, and worked at Bemis for 28 years.

Mike enjoyed being outdoors; camping, shooting were just a few of his hobbies. He always had fast motorcycles and cars through out` his life, but spending time with his friends and family meant the most to him. He was preceded in death by his brother, Maurice Nichols.

Survivors Include: Wife: Debbie Nichols, Brazil, Indiana. Daughters: Jennifer (Jason) Fitch, Frankfort, Indiana, Jamie Nichols, Terre Haute, Indiana. Brother: Mitch (Marcia) Nichols, Fillmore, Indiana. Grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Erin, Raegan, and Riley Fitch.

At Mike’s request a private service was held. His final request was that everyone remain proactive about their health. Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice.
