James Fredrick Moyer, 82, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at Indiana University Hospital, in Indianapolis, Indiana, on June 18, 2020.

Jim was born on March 21, 1938, in Terre Haute, Indiana the son of Robert Earl and Katherine June (Kempf). Jim graduated from Gerstmeyer High School. Following high school, Jim served his country in the United States Army in Germany and France.

As a civilian, Jim worked as a supervisor for Alcan Steel and Nucor Steel. After retiring from Nucor Jim worked as a truck driver for several years. Jim was a very talented woodworker. After retirement, Jim worked to build his own home from the lumber on his property. He and Chris moved into their home in 2005 which completed one of Jim’s longtime goals.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Robert Earl and Katherine June Moyer and a sister Jo Helen Moyer.

Jim is survived by his soulmate Chris Reid of Brazil; his “daughters”: Misty Hayes and husband Cory of Carbon and Robin Reid (Justin Akers) of Brazil; “grandchildren”: Kelsey Reid (David), Trent Hayes, Kaylea Hayes (Chava), Gabby Reid, Christopher Myers, Nate Reid, and Colton Hayes; and a “great-grandbaby” on the way.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
