
Betty Jane Phillips, 91, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away while staying at Exceptional Living Center.
Betty was born on February 16, 1929, in Brazil, the daughter of Otis Elmer Wilson and Florence Josephine (Parr) Wilson. Over the years she worked at Mallory’s, CBS, Quaker Maid, and Adamson’s Dry Cleaning. When she wasn’t working, Betty enjoyed bird watching, working word search, attending family reunions, and most recently playing Bingo at the nursing home. Betty was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church on Walnut street for many years.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Otis Wilson and Florence James; her husband Harlan Phillips who passed April 1978; her grandson Christopher Phillip Treash; her great-grandson Jackson Phillips; siblings: Elmer Wilson, Arthur Vernon Wilson, twin-sister Norma Jean Pollard, and Melvin Wilson;
Survivors include her children: Steven Phillips and wife Sindy of Brazil, Vickie Wheeler and husband Terry of Brazil, and Christine Phillips Martin on Summerset, Kentucky; grandchildren: Steven “Paul” Phillips, Selinda Brown (Keith), Mark Phillips (Susie), Nickie Phillips, Justin Phillips, Greg Wheeler (Jamie), Jody Nevins (Kenny), James Ray “J.R.” Treash (Carrie), Heather Eaker (Trent), and Wesley Treash (Brittany; 24 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a brother Cecil Wilson; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
