Carl J. Haviland, 53 of Clay City, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 18, 2020 in Ascension St. Vincent E.R. He was born in Brazil on August 20, 1966 to Ronald and Loretta (Michaels) Haviland.

Carl was a 1985 graduate of North Central High School in Farmersburg. He was a machine operator for Morris Manufacturing in Brazil. Carl served his country during Desert Storm as a Boiler Tech in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he enlisted with the National Guard in Linton. Carl loved the outdoors and spent his time mushroom hunting, fishing and walking through the woods with his dogs.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Loretta Haviland; and a brother, Ronnie Haviland.

Survivors include his wife, Candace (Gallagher) Haviland; sons, James and Seth Haviland; daughters, Jenny Seifert and husband James, Makenzi Haviland, Zoey Gallagher and Anglina Easley; grandchildren, Ezekiel and Korbin Seifert and Austin Gallagher-McKamey; a brother, William Haviland and a sister, Tammy McCormick and husband, Roy.
