Frederick Charles Johnson, 69, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away at Gibson Family Center for Hospice on June 23, 2020.

Fred was born on May 17, 1951, in Brazil, Indiana the son of Ralph and Ruby Neoma (Miller) Johnson. Fred served his country in the United States Army from 1969 to 1972. Fred worked for Commercial Solvents, in Terre Haute, for several years.

Fred was an avid racing fan. He loved watching all kinds of racing including, stock car, NASCAR, and Indy Car.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Ruby Neoma Johnson and a grandson Caleb Carter Johnson Smith.

Survivors include his wife Clara (Whitney) Johnson whom he married on December 16, 1973; a son Clint Johnson (Sara Cooper); a daughter Cynthia Gess (Brian) of Terre Haute; grandchildren: Caleigh Thompson, Cain Thompson, Ava Johnson, and Ella Johnson; a brother Ronald Johnson (Sue) of Bremen, Indiana; a sister Linda Gardner (Donald) of Brazil as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Services for Fred will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 1:00pm. Visitation will be at the funeral home, on Monday, from 11am until time of services. Burial will be held at Union Cemetery with military honors.
