Washington, Indiana Mother Facing Charges After Child Pronounced Brain Dead

WASHINGTON, Ind – Police in Washington, Indiana have arrested the mother of a 16-month-old child on charges of Domestic Battery and Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.

 

Police and other first responders were called to a home on Monday where they found the child who was not breathing. The child was flown to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. 

 

On Wednesday the child was pronounced brain dead.

 

The child’s mother, 23-year-old Marissa Aishe is also now facing an additional charge of Neglect of a Depending Resulting in Death. 

       

She is being held in the Daviess County jail without bond.

 

Police are continuing their investigation.
