Duke Energy Grant Pays For Emergency Grain Bin Rescue Equipment

CLAY COUNTY, Ind. – On Thursday (6/25/20) the Clay City Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Department unveiled a new piece of equipment made possible by a $2,000 Duke Energy Grant.

According to Purdue University, 70 percent of grain bin entrapment happens on farms.

The grain bin rescue auger will help firsts responders to save lives during grain bin entrapment.

The equipment will also be available to help other area departments in case of emergency.
