Craig Jay Widener, 75. of Plainfield, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 in I.U. West in Avon. Craig was born in Indianapolis on December 16, 1944 to Russell Lloyd and Mildred (Green) Wildener.

Craig graduated from Danville High School and Indiana State University with a degree in Social Studies. Craig retired from the American Red Cross of Indianapolis as Chief Operating Officer after 40 years of service. He attended Trinity Church in Indianapolis.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Mildred Widener; a infant brother, Kent Widener.

Survivors include his spouse, Robert Remelius of Plainfield, a son, Randall Eric Widener and wife, Meredith Dodson of Battle Creek, MI; grandchildren, John, Oliver, Lillian and Lucille.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM (EDT) Thursday, July 2, 2020 in Brazil First United Methodist Church, 201 N. Meridian Street, Brazil, IN with Pastor Rick Koch officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled.
