Mildred B. Teter, 95, died Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Cornerstone Hospice, Tavares, Florida. Mitzi, or “Brad”, known by many, was born May 24, 1925.

She graduated from Van Buren High School, as co-Valedictorian, attended Indiana University School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse. Mitzi met her future husband, on a blind date when she was in nursing school and he was in medical school. They married in 1947 and together had five children: Melinda (Jack), Jan (Ralph), Kris (Carol), George, and Mark (Laurie). After the children were school-aged, Mitzi worked in George’s pediatric office where she loved using her nursing skills and working alongside her husband.

Later in life she became the lay pastor at Carbon Methodist Church where she attended. When the pastor was out of town, she would preach and her sermons inspired many. She delivered meals to shut-ins and was very involved in her church life. She often said that God was first in her life, her husband next, then her children and entire family. Her family meant everything to her and she created a stable, loving home for everyone. Her favorite past time was painting. Her favorite mediums were watercolors, oils, and acrylics, and she produced hundreds of beautiful paintings known to many.

More than anything, she was the most wonderful mother. She doted on her five children, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was loved by many and had an impact on countless people through her wonderful friendships, teaching Sunday school, and living a Christ centered life, which was an inspiration and comfort to so many.

She was preceded in death, by her loving husband, George Teter, M.D, her parents, Harry and Orlean Bradshaw, and her siblings, Dorothy Klingler, Bill Bradshaw, and John Bradshaw. Her remaining family members besides her children and their families, are her brother Bob Bradshaw and many nieces and nephews.
