Joseph Bernard Reagin, 78, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Harrison’s Crossing Health Campus. He was born on May 29, 1942, in Terre Haute to Max Ferrell Reagin and Anna Marie (Hurst) Reagin. He married Lana Sue (Staggs) Britton on August 17, 1975.

Joe is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Lana Sue Reagin of Terre Haute; children, David Reagin of Nineveh, Tim Britton and husband, Dr. Bruce Hlodnicki of Indianapolis, and Kim Bennett of Terre Haute; sister, Lois Casper and husband Walt of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Steve (Hilah Schimmel) Bennett, and Brandon (Ashley) Bennett; great-grandchildren, Lilli, Landon, Laney, Blakely, and Blair; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Joe graduated from Garfield High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Perkins. He worked as a Boiler Operator at Eli Lilly, retiring after 39 years of dedicated service. Joe had an incredible work ethic and enjoyed his job. He also loved to go bowling, golfing, and looking at cars. Joe was a member of the Elks Club.

Joe’s favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family, especially his grandsons and great-grandchildren. His family meant everything to him. Whether it was going out to family dinners in restaurants or trips to Hawaii, he simply enjoyed being with his family. He was a kindhearted man with a special concern for children and their welfare. He was a blessing to his family and friends and will be truly missed.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 20 in Roselawn Memorial Park with Pastor Sheila Thompson officiating. Joe’s family would like to thank the staff at Harrison’s Crossing for the compassionate care during Joe’s stay.
