James Michael Sullivan, 84, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away September 9, 2020.  He was born September 13, 1935, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Joe Sullivan and Helen (Reese) Sullivan.  Jim graduated from Gerstmeyer High School.  He served his country proudly, in the Unites States Marine Corp.  While serving in the Korean War, he was the recipient of Nation Defense Service Medal, UN Service Medal, and Korean Service Medal.  Jim  held memberships and was a lifetime member of American Legion, VFW, 40&8, Marine Corp League.  He was also a member of the Silent Mens, and Sycamore Club.  He was an honored recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash. Jim retired from General Phone Company, and from the Terre Haute Fire Department.  He was also the former owner of Sully’s Bar.  Jim is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Ann Sullivan; children James B (Michelle) Sullivan, Kim (Richard) Bayless, Kerry (Brad) Lloyd, Kevin (Beth) Sullivan, Ruth Akers, Deborah (John) Drummy, and Robert (Tricia) Akers; 20 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings Mike Sullivan, Pat Sullivan, and Kathy Stinchfield.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his son Timothy Michael Sullivan; and brother Joe Sullivan.  Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2020 in Greiner Funeral Home, at 10:00a.m..  Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, with military honors.  Visitation will be on Monday, September 14, 2020, at the funeral home, from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m.  Visitation will also be on Tuesday, from 9:00a.m. until service time.  If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Vigo County Education Foundation in support of Timothy Michael Sullivan Scholarshp,PO Box 3703, Terre Haute, Indiana 47803 in Iieu of flowers.
