
Paul Harold Richey, Jr., age 66, of Universal, Indiana passed away on September 26, 2020 at home after a battle with cancer.
Born February 27, 1954 to Paul and Wilma Richey.
Paul was very industrious and began working at the age of 12 as a projectionist and maintenance of projection equipment at the Palace theatre in Clinton, Indiana. He had worked in various fields such as union painter, construction, sales, small engine and lawn mower repair just to name a few. Paul enjoyed an extensive career in music and film. He had managed several drive-in threatres and worked as a disc jockey at WAXI in Rockville, IN, WTHI/HI99 in Terre Haute, IN, and WDEB in Jamestown, TN. He built and engineered his own studio and projection booth. Hobbies included his love of music and film, wood working, prefabrication work, cooking, and spoiling his granddaughters. Paul was a jack of all trades and a master of many.
Preceded in death by his mother and very good and close friend, Larry Pine.
Survivors include his friend and wife of more than 36 years, Rebecca Richey; his father; two sisters: Paula (Bob) Padgett and Pam (Richard) Price; brother, Pat (Sue) Richey; four sons; Paul III, David Henry, and Greg Richey and Jeffrey Ryan Lowe; two granddaughters that were the love and joy of his life: Elizabeth June and Jesi Ryan Lowe and their mother Sabrina Lowe; two grandsons: Brendon and Ronnie Richey; very close friends: Jarome Hawker, Margaret Benefield, and Randy Wright along with multiple aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Paul will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Cremation at Samaritan Funeral Home. A get-together is scheduled for close family and friends.
