
Billy Ray Buck, 84, lifelong resident of Brazil, Indiana, passed away, on November 26, 2020, following a battle with dementia.
Bill was born on February 6, 1936, in Brazil, Indiana the son of Alvin and Irene (Gerber) Buck. He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1956. While attending high school he excelled in various sports including football, basketball, baseball, and track. Following high school, he worked as a painter for several years. Bill began working for Martin Marietta in 1967. He worked his way up the ranks and eventually gained the position of plant manager. He retired in 2007. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed watching sports, bowling, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Irene Buck; 3 siblings: Morris Buck, Norma Ruddock, and Marvin Buck.
Survivors include his wife Carol (Pearce) Buck whom he married on August 14, 1966; 3 children: Shannon Wood and husband Scott of Brazil, Stacie Ballenger and husband Chad of Noblesville, and Darren Buck and wife Andria of Brazil; grandchildren: Hayden Wood, Tenley Wood, Cooper Ballenger, and Karsyn Buck as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Private services will be held at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
