Mary R. Nasser of Meadows Manor Nursing Home in Terre Haute, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 30, 2020. Mary was born on February 6, 1925 in Damascus, Syria. She came to Terre Haute as a small child with her parents.

Mary graduated from Wiley High School in 1943. She attended Indiana State Teacher’s College and earned a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. Mary taught Spanish and typing for 39 years, most of which were at Sarah Scott Middle School.

Mary loved spending time with family and friends and would befriend anyone. She enjoyed various community activities and loved playing BINGO. She joined Terre Haute First Baptist Church on April 5, 1942, making her a faithful Golden Age Member. At church, she was a member of the Kum Double Class and the Double Ring Class.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Richard K. and Rahmeh May Nasser, two sisters, Helen Lehman and Katherine Seneff, one nephew, Fred Lehman and one niece, Jana Ann Nasser.

Survivors include one sister, Nadine Marina, one brother, Nimmer Nasser, and nephews, Richard Marina, Edward Marina, Victor Marina, Scott Nasser, James Lehman, Jeffrey Lehman and David Seneff.

Mary will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St was entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Terre Haute First Baptist Church or Shriners Hospitals. The family wishes to thank Meadows Manor North for their care of Mary.
