
Benjamin L. Reberger, 78, of Brazil passed away suddenly, December 10, 2020, at at his home. He was born February 11, 1942, the son of John Reberger and Ruth (Boase) Reberger. He graduated from Van Buren High School with the Class of 1960. He was married November 22, 1967, to Nancy (Crosby) Reberger. Together, they raised their children in Clay County.
Ben worked at CBS, Stran Steel, and Anaconda before starting his later years working for Clay Community Schools. He worked as a custodian at Jackson Township Elementary for several years.
Ben was a man of simple pleasures. He enjoyed spending his time with his wife Nancy, and going to the local restaurants for coffee and a meal. He also made it a habit to check in at his son’s office on a daily visit while in town.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Reberger; his wife, Nancy Reberger in June of 2014; his mother-in-law, Betty Crosby; three brothers, John Reberger, David Reberger, and James Reberger; one sister-in-law, Hope Reberger; and nephew, Christopher Reberger.
Survivors include his children, Christina Thompson and husband Mac of Bowling Green, and Lee Reberger and wife Rochell of Brazil; grandchildren, Sarah Street (Jake), Craig Bell (Holli), Hannah Yeiser (fiancé Dylan Nissley), and Trey Reberger; and great-grandchildren Lillian Bell and Carsten Bell. Ben is further survived by his brother: Paul Reberger and wife, Shirley; and sisters-in-law: Rosemary Reberger and Patty Reberger. Ben’s extended family includes nieces and nephews: Jim Reberger (Karon), Sheri Turner (Rob), John Reberger (Jamee), Debbie Burns (Randy), Christina Reberger, Dave Reberger (Diane), and Kevin Reberger (Laurie).
Services will be held Monday, December 14, 2020 at 1:00pm at French Funeral Home with his son, Lee Reberger, officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11-1. Music will be provided by Steve McCullough. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ in his memory.
