
James Gregory Nicoson, 59, of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Union Hospital. He was born on June 9, 1961, in Terre Haute to Keith Patrick and Phyllis Frances (Martino) Nicoson.
Jim is survived by his son, Justin Nicoson and wife Courtney; his granddaughter, “The Apple of Grandpa’s Eye” Isla; siblings, Denise Montgomery and husband Chuck, Keith Nicoson and wife Janet, and Mary Ann Doumas and husband Mike; niece, Jennifer Montgomery; nephews, Patrick Doumas and Cole Nicoson; great-nieces, Lucy Hayne, Karsyn Buck, and Leah McMasters; surrogate brother, James Garretson and wife Tammy; and many wonderful friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Andria L. Nicoson.
Jim was a graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Jim worked for 35 years at Bemis before his retirement earlier this year. He was a long-time volunteer for the Silent Men’s Club and a member of the Marine Corps League. Jim loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed going on trips with his friends to deer camp and watching the Bears, Cubs, and ISU football. Most recently, he loved spending time with his granddaughter, Isla. He was a great man and will be truly missed by those who were blessed to have known him.
Visitation will be held from noon until 8 p.m. on Monday, December 14 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Graveside services will be private. Jim will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
