Lowell Eck, 89, of Terre Haute, passed away December 10, 2020 of complications related to COVID.
He was born in Grayville Illinois to parents George Henry and Mildred. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia of 59 years and Sister Lola Calder. He is survived by his children Lowell Jr. (Cotton) – wife Susan of Terre Haute, Cindy of Terre Haute, and Gaylene Wilkinson – husband Larry of North Carolina; Grandchildren Joshua Eck (Stacy), Zachary Eck (Jessica), Troy Wilkinson, and Kristi Smith (KL); and 6 Great-Grandchildren; 7 Sisters and Brothers-in-law and their families and a Niece – Linda McCarthy and Nephew – Stan Calder and their families.
Lowell served God and Country in the United States Air Force for 23 years which included the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict. He was a devout Christian all of his life including being a Member of the Maryland Community Church for over 40 of those years and loved singing in the Choir, also serving most of those years assisting with collecting the church offering and on the counting team.
After retiring from the Air Force he attended Indiana State University acquiring a Bachelor of Science in Social Service and then continued on to retire from 2 additional careers from Sears and Columbia House as well as numerous other positions including a Realtor for Pfister and twice working for the US Census and lastly a Courier for MedLab before finally retiring to stay home with his wife and Dog Ivory and still finding time for his hobbies of avid reading and playing chess.
Lowell was a devoted Husband and Father being a Scout Leader and a Member of the YMCA and attended as many as possible of the recitals, plays and band shows as possible. He will be remembered as a kind, generous, and hardworking man and will be dearly missed by many.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at New Harmony Cemetery with military honors. Pastor Vince McFarland will be officiating.
