
George Edward Ellis, 88 of Terre Haute passed away Friday December 18, 2020 at the Springhill Rehabilitation Center. George was born October 7, 1932 to Charles and Wadea Ellis. After 30 years of service, George retired from Standard Register Corporation of Terre Haute. A life long member of St. George Orthodox Church, he served and supported his church in countless ways over the years. George also served our country in the Army during Korean War and was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
George is survived by his niece Laura Hendrix and her husband Jack of Terre Haute and his nephew Skander Nasser III and his wife Tracy of Zionsville. He is also survived by his great-niece Alexandra and her husband William Hoffman of Princeton, great-niece Megan Nasser and great-nephew Colin Nasser both of Zionsville. George was blessed with countless cousins and close friends who he cherished. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Wadea Ellis, sister Helen Marie Nasser, brother-in-law Skander Nasser Jr. and his niece Candace Kay Nasser.
Pursuant to George’s request, and to accommodate COVID-19 regulations including mandatory masks and social distancing, a private family service will be held in the Chapel of Memories located at the Roselawn Cemetery on Tuesday December 29, 2020 beginning at 11:00 and will be officiated by Rev. Father Paul E. Fuller and Rev. Pdn. Elias Corey of St. George Orthodox Church.
