Bonnie Jean Kennedy, 91, of Brazil, Indiana, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by her family, on January 14, 2021.

Jean was born on February 9, 1929, in Clay County, Indiana the daughter of William and Flonnie (King) Hedge. She attended Indiana State University and worked for Arketex. On January 7, 1951, she married Maurice Kennedy. They enjoyed 69 years of marriage before he passed away last year. She and Maurice raised 2 sons: Alan Kennedy and David Kennedy. She was a phenomenal cook and loved having family gatherings. She volunteered at the Clay County Health Center for many years. She also enjoyed crocheting and working needle point. She was an avid record keeper and loved journaling her life and family events.

Jean was a member of the Ebenezer Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Clay County Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Flonnie Hedge; husband Maurice Kennedy; son Alan Kennedy; granddaughter Andrea Kennedy Buddle siblings: Joann Reel, James Hedge, and Shirley Hedge.

She is survived by a son David Kennedy (fiancé Cindy Koehler); grandchildren: Matt Kennedy and wife Kristi and Sarah Kennedy Campione and husband Marcus and William Kennedy; great-grandchildren: Olivia Buddle, Cael Buddle, Walker Campione, and Bryar Kennedy; brother Ron Hedge and wife Carol.

Graveside services will be on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 1:00pm at Calcutta Cemetery.
