Jerry E. Taylor, 77 of Brazil, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Ascension St. Vincent Hospital of Brazil. He was born in Mecca, IN on June 23, 1943, the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Cunningham) Taylor. Jerry was retired from Hydro-Power in Terre Haute and worked in Inventory Control.

Jerry graduated from Mecca High School in 1961 and attended Indiana State University. Shortly after, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and went to Vietnam. Unfortunately, Jerry was exposed to agent orange during his service and had suffered with it for the last 30 years. On February 22, 1966, he married the love of his life, Judith Ross. He was a member of the Mecca Christian Church. Jerry was an avid sports fan and cheered on the Los Angeles Dodgers and Indiana Pacers. He enjoyed music and loved listening to his jukebox. Last by not least, Jerry was an animal lover.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Taylor; a brother, Max Taylor; and sister, Mary Broady.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 55 years, Judith Taylor; a son, David Taylor; daughters, Leslie Hayes (Richard) and Suzanne Taylor; daughter of the heart, Michelle; grandchildren, Shannen (Matthew), Andrew, Elizabeth (Alex), Chase; Taylor, Bryce and Shelby; a great-granddaughter, Anzlee; and many nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services are scheduled with no visitation. Burial of his cremains will be in Clearview Cemetery. The family is planning a Memorial service at a later date.
