
George William Patterson, Jr., 80 of Poland, IN passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 in his residence. He was born in Terre Haute on December 14, 1940, the son of George and Virginia (Evans) Patterson.
George was a 1958 graduate of Rosedale High School, attended Purdue University and graduated from Indiana State University earning his Masters in Science and Physics. In high school and at Purdue, George played trombone in the marching bands. His career began as a teacher at Brazil High School, then he worked for IBM for 10 years. He then worked as a professor for ISU and later started his own Agronomics Business, PK Agronomics for many years. Later, George entered the real estate business buying and selling homes. George was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in Brazil for over 20 years serving as deacon and choir member. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His fishing trips to Canada with his friends were his greatest joy.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Virginia Patterson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Susan (Mustard) Patterson, children, Steve Patterson and wife, Melissa, Susan Feddersen and husband, Stuart and Jason Rodgers and wife, Venus; a sister, Anita Higgins and husband, John; sister-in-law, Janie Holt and brother-in-law, Michael Mustard; grandchildren, Stephanie Patterson, Scott Patterson, Emily Feddersen, Sadie Feddersen, Hattie Feddersen, Harley Rodgers, Steven Rodgers and Wyatt Rodgers; and one great-granddaughter, Ember Rodgers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 6, 2021 in French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil with Pastor Ernie Rush officiating. Burial will be in Poland Zion Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home.
