A. Jenean Douglas, 62, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away on March 4, 2021 following a brief illness.

Jenean was born on December 20, 1958, in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of John and Charlotte Jo (Jones) Hoffman. She graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1976. Jenean was a bartender at Palmer’s for several years before working as a waitress at various restaurants.

Jenean enjoyed birdwatching, collecting chickens, spending time on the beach, and spending time with her family.

She will be remembered as having a quick wit and enjoyed sarcastic banter with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Charlotte Hoffman; two brothers Mike Hoffman and Pat Hoffman.

Jenean is survived by 3 children: Steven Jesse Buis of Brazil, Brooke VanHook and husband Jon of Rockville, and Virgil Buis and wife Jessica of Staunton; grandchildren: Jesse “J.D.” Buis, Austyn Buis, Mahailee Garrett, Gunner Inabnit, Zach VanHook, Alex VanHook, Gavin Shorter, Nic VanHook, Zaiden Williams, Paxton VanHook, Mya Kenley, Brycen Whitehead, Trayven Buis, Avery Buis, and Veighla Buis; a brother Jeff Hoffman; as well as several extended family members and friends.

At her request, no services have been planned. Cremation has been entrusted to French Funeral Home.
