Philip N. Simonson, 82 of Terre Haute, formerly of Brazil, passed away March 15, 2021 at 5:00am at Terre Haute Regional Hospital following a brief illness. He was born October 19, 1938 in Clay County, the son of Roy Simonson and Audrey M. Knapp Simonson. He graduated from Glenn High School, Class of 1956 and later attended Indiana Business College. Phil served in the U.S. Army stateside. His career was primarily with CBS in the computer analysis department.

Philip was united in marriage to Donna Archer Simonson and together they blended their two families. He and Donna were members of the First Presbyterian Church.

Phil was a member of the Terre Haute Kiwanis Club, the CBS Golf Club and the VFW and American Legion. He and Donna enjoyed traveling to Florida and had a house in Engelwood, FL.

Survivors include his children, Todd Simonson (Alyse), David Simonson (Stephanie), Doug Simonson (Amy), Wendell Minnick (Isabel), Tonya Pierce (Chris), and Tracy Brookshire; grandchildren, Amber, Jamie, Jacob, Justin, Michael, Ryan, Christopher, Nicholas, Thea, Raven, Tori, Phil, Abe, Arizona, Korie, Teeaira, Tiesha, Kaegan, Devon, Cody, and Jake; great-grandchildren, William, Waylon, Wade, Isaiah, Nevaeh, Aria, Crimson, Clover, and Brooks; one sister Sherrie Slack; two brothers, Keith Simonson, and Terry Simonson (Dink); and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sue DeVol Simonson in 1974, his wife of 44 years Donna Simonson on December 26, 2020; and one son, Mark Simonson.

Services will be Saturday at 11:00am at the Lawson-Miller Chapel with burial at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 and again Saturday prior to services.
