Mary Elizabeth “Becky” Brown, 85, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021 at her home, with her family by her side.

She was born on March 20, 1936, in Vanleer, Tennesse, the daughter of Horace and Maggie (Street) Black. She married Lendon M. “Brownie” Brown on July 9, 1966; he preceded her in death in 2007. At the age of 60 Becky accomplished a life-long dream by earning her GED and graduated at a ceremony at Northview High School. She and Lendon raised 7 children: Kathy, Cindy, Jeff, Michelle, Ed, Clay, and Billy.

Mary enjoyed sewing, working outdoors, playing board games and cards. She especially enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Horace and Maggie Black; her husband Lendon Brown; her daughter Kathy Barr; her sister Peggy Walden.

Mary is survived by her children: Cindy Marchione and husband Rich of Brazil, Jeff Brown of Greenfield, Indiana, Michelle Hughes and husband Bill of Carrier Mills, Illinois, Ed Brown and wife Julia of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Clay Brown and wife Barb of Greenfield, Indiana, and Billy Brown and wife Jennifer of Bloomington, Indiana; grandchildren: Jason Stogsdill (Cha), Summer Palmer (David), Autumn Stogsdill, Heather May (Rob), Rachael Brown, Amanda Stone (Sy), Sarah Popetz (Zach), Nathan Brown, Morgan Brown, Maggie Brown (Kameron), Ian Brown, Ezra Brown (Keeslyn), and Joseph Buckley; 16 great-grandkids and counting; siblings: Debbie Campbell and husband Dick; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 4-6pm. Services will follow at 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Intrepid Hospice 400 Poplar Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47807.
