PARKE COUNTY, Ind – The Parke County Health Department issued the following statement on Tuesday:
Parke County Health Office, Dr. Frank Swaim, has advised the Health Department that Parke County should follow the Governor’s advisory. Wearing of masks will no longer be mandated in Parke County, but the advisory encourages those who are unvaccinated to continue masking. It is recommended that you mask until you are at least 2 weeks post being fulling vaccinated. It is also advised to continue social distancing and masking in large gatherings at this time. These are advisories, not mandates, so no punitive actions will be taken.
The Parke County Vaccine Clinic has openings this Friday and Saturday if you are interested in getting the COVID-19 vaccine. We have the Moderna vaccine at this time and are unsure when we might get the Johnson & Johnson. To register, you can go to www.ourshot.in.gov, call 211, or call the health department.
Individual businesses will make their own decisions regarding requirements. Some may continue with a mask mandate, and they are encouraged to continue social distancing guidelines.
As we move forward, we urge all to be respectful of one another’s choices, and continue to stay safe and well.
