Robert Lathie Jones, 62, of Rockville, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 1, 1959, in Terre Haute to Marvin Leroy and Jeanette Alice (Wolfe) Jones.

Bob is survived by his mother, Jeanette Jones of Rockville; brother, Tim Jones and wife Sherry of Rockville; nieces and nephews, Andrea Jones and Corben Jones of Rockville, Brandie Heller of Florida, and Tim Heller of California; uncle, Lloyd Wolfe of Terre Haute; aunt, Maggie Jones of Terre Haute; special cousins, Elnora and Howard; several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his father; sister, Levesta Wilson; grandparents, Howard and Eileen Wolfe and Lathie and Levesta Jones; uncles, Larry Jones and Phil Jones; and aunts, Sandy Jones and Pat Wolfe.

Bob was a 1977 graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School. He served in the United States Army. Bob earned his Industrial Electrician Associate’s degree from Ivy Tech. In 1984, Bob was in a semi accident that left him as a quadriplegic. Never one to complain, Bob turned his circumstances into an opportunity for learning new things and spreading joy to others. A self-taught computer-whiz, Bob could figure anything out. He became a licensed Ham Radio operator and CB operator with the handle Buzzard392. He had a great sense of humor, loved his family, and doted on his niece and nephew.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 23 at the funeral home with Pastor Greg Robbins officiating. Bob will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
