Several Suffer Minor Injuries In Monday Morning Clay County Crash

CLAY COUNTY, Ind – Monday (4/26/21) morning around 7:30 a.m. Clay County Deputies were called to a crash on US HWY 40 and CR 425 W.

As Deputies and Rescue Personnel arrived on scene they were told that three people had minor injuries. All were taken to a local hospital to be checked out.

Clay County Chief Deputy Josh Clark said that 38 year old Valerie Gentry of Terre Haute had been east bound on US HWY 40 with two juveniles and had stopped in the left lane waiting to turn onto CR 425 W when she was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by 67 year old George Knezevich also of Terre Haute.

Police say that Knezevich told them that he too was traveling east on US HWY 40 in the left lane when the crested the hill he noticed that Gentry was stopped but did not have time to avoid the crash.
