Vera Barnett, 65, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away April 28, 2021. She was born on September 11, 1955, to Russell Powell and Loretta (Petty) Powell. She attended Garfield High School and Terre Haute North. Vera worked for the State of Indiana, and retired after 31 years as a Correctional Officer Captain, at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility. Vera was known for her talents, she owned her own ceramic shop, decorated cakes, and was an instructor at Harrold’s Beauty Academy. Vera is survived by her daughter Christina Boland (Matt); grandchildren Alora Muncie (Cameron), Mavery Boland, Landon Boland, Bryler Boland; great grandchildren Dennis, Gabriel, and John Muncie; nieces Nickole Derickson, Loralee Myer; nephew Deagan Derickson. The family has entrusted Greiner Funeral Home with care and arrangements. In honoring Vera’s wishes, no services will be scheduled.
