
Jerry Lee Griffin, 69, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at home, unexpectedly, on May 7, 2021 following an extended illness.
Jerry was born on July 18, 1951, in Clay County, Indiana, the son of Earl and Mary (Hawkins) Griffin. He graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1969. Jerry worked at Columbia House for many years as a mechanic. After Columbia House closed he moved to Wal Mart Distribution, in Greencastle, where he worked as a mechanic as well.
Jerry was an avid race fan especially a fan of dirt track and NASCAR racing.
Jerry is survived by his wife Sharon (Meneely) Griffin whom he married on November 2, 1974; two sons: David Griffin and wife Cindy of Brazil and Earl Griffin and wife Amanda of Nashville, Tennessee. Jerry is also survived by his grandchildren Jessica Larimer (Anthony Anstead), Joshua Larimer, and Allister Griffin; great-grandchildren Leo Anstead and Raph Anstead; a brother Steve Griffin and wife DeAnne; as well several extended family members and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ed “Slick” Griffin.
Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 4-8pm. Services will be held at the funeral home, on Wednesday, at 11:00, with Pastor Ernie Rush officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Run Cemetery, in Bridgeton, Indiana.
