Patricia Ann Mattox, 81 of Brazil, passed away on Thursday May 6, 2021 in Hudsonwood of Brazil. She was born on August 1, 1939 in Terre Haute, the daughter of Harry Secrest and Iva (Titus) Secrest.
Patty was a 1958 graduate of Garfield High School in Terre Haute. She was a server at the former Ambrosini’s and Gasthaus Stefan restaurants. Patty also was a sales clerk at The Roots Company Department store. She enjoyed her friendship with the ladies of the Red Hat Society. She was a member of Saint Ann’s Catholic Church where she was very active with the clinic, food pantry and fish fries. Patty loved to garden, sing, dance and mostly cook fabulous dinners for her family and friends.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Iva Secrest; a son, William Donald Smith; a granddaughter, Iva Shay Clark.
Survivors include her loving husband of 39 years, Donald Mattox; daughters, Kelly (Stephen) Nunn of Rockville, Kristy Smith of Brazil and Karla (Jerald) Thomas of Brazil; step-daughters, Debra (James) Allen of Brazil and Lori Wood of Terre Haute; step-son, Steven (Kay) Mattox of Carbon; grandchildren, James Bruner, Justin Bruner, Sarah Lockard, Jedidiah Thomas and Brandy Thomas; step-grandchildren, Cordell Allen, Bradey Allen, Brandon Russell, Lindsay Jeffers, Josh Wood, Kelly Neff and Tyler Mattox; and many great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry (Roselyn) Secrest; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil. Burial will be in Clearview Cemetery.
