Dana Louise Kirk, 62, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at home, on May 8, 2021 following a lengthy illness.

Dana was born on April 2, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Merlin and Judith (Via) Kirk. She received her Certified Nursing Assistant credentials from Ivy Tech. She worked as a CNA various nursing homes in the area including The Cannon Inn and Southwood Health Care.

In her younger years she enjoyed riding horses. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and was very proud of all of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Merlin Kirk and Judith Via and her husband Chuck Oricks.

She is survived by her 3 children: J.D. Miller and wife Rose, Sara Thomas and husband Josh, and Lesley Watts all of Brazil; grandchildren: Michaela Chesshire and husband D. J., Kaitlyn Miller, Dillon Miller, Jase Thomas, Kylie Watts, and Garrett Watts; a great-grandson Beckham Chesshire; a sister Lisa Petrowski and husband Joe of Texas; two beloved fur babies Abby and Toby as well as several extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 1-3. Services will be at the funeral home at 3pm with Pastor Kenny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery in West Terre Haute.
