Jerry Michael Manning, 76, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Mike was born January 11, 1945 in Pekin, IL. to Loyed Estil Manning and Delta Mae Craig Manning. He was retired from CSX Railroad as an Engineer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce serving as a Crew Chief FYC Phantom, a member of 12 Points Masonic Lodge #769, Veterans of Foreign War #972, Riley American Legion #328, Lost Creek Conservation Club and a Lifetime Member of the NRA. He was a former pilot and had a great interest in all forms of the automotive industry, including being a regular fan and supporter of the Terre Haute Action Track. He often reminisced how much he had enjoyed and missed working with his father in the garage, fixing, repairing and talking about cars. He was very talented craftsman with cars and gun repair and had great knowledge working with his mill and lathe. He was known as a great story teller, sharing stories with his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Lloydine Holt Manning whom he married August 8, 1970. He is survived by two daughters; Julie Manning (Dusty Havens) and Michele Glotzbach (Mike) both of Terre Haute and one son, Parker Manning (Melissa) also of Terre Haute. He is survived by two brothers; John David Manning (Shara) of Oaktown, IN., and Malcolm Manning of Terre Haute. He is survived by one sister, Jeanne Anne Manning of Tucson, AZ. He is survived by grandchildren; Madison Manning, Morgan Manning, Marin Manning, Mabrey Manning, Lance Dooley, Max Glotzbach, Gus Glotzbach and Sam Glotzbach. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and his dog Henry. Private services were held. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday May 22, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Riley American Legion 5603 South Lama, Terre Haute, IN 47802 The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the Lost Creek Conservation Club.
