Michael Jon Byrer, 73, of Bowling Green, Indiana, passed away at the Waters of Greencastle, on May 23, 2021.
Michael was born on December 3, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of John Byrer and Betty (Ward) Byrer. He served in the Army and was honorably discharged.
After serving in the Army, Michael married Leah (Vanslyke) on May 7, 1973.
Michael was a “Wheeler and Dealer.” He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending his free time with his grandkids, and running his gunsmith business; M.J.B. Bladesworks. He was often referred to as “Big Mike.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, and son; Tim Byrer.
He is survived by his loving wife; Leah Byrer, sons; Michael (Stephanie) Byrer, Brad (Cindy) Byrer, daughter; Melanie (Eric) Higgins, brother; Durelle (Jeanine) Byrer, sisters; Dortha Byrer, Nora (Paul) Spence, Lynn (Ken) Kortum, grandchildren; Joshua (Ashley) Byrer, Lindsey (Isaac) Buchinger, Tyler Higgins, Sophie Byrer, Ellie Byrer, Fynnlee Byrer, great-grandchild; Kairi Byrer, nephews; John (April) Byrer, Nathan (Collette) Byrer, Darren (Stacey) Byrer, Tony McDowell, James David Crowe, nieces; Kimberly Byrer, Amber Hughes, Kimberlyn Byrer, and Autumn (Albert) Arnold, step grandchildren; Barbara Nickerson (TJ), Josh Nickerson (Dara), step great-grandchildren; Austin Nickerson, Elsie Nickerson, Harper Wetter, Brynlee Wetter, and 9 great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 5:00 -7:00 P.M.
