John Emery Reynolds, 69, of Brazil, Indiana passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021, at Union Hospital with his wife by his side. Emery was born on October 1, 1951, the son of John Edward Reynolds and Ethel Mae (Cree) Reynolds.
Emery worked at International Paper in the maintenance and shipping department. After retiring, he enjoyed spending his time boating, fishing, and swimming. He was often referred to as a “Handy-Man.” Most recently, he enjoyed “logging” with his nephew, David. Together, they cut down trees and stacked wood in their free time. He was also very active at the YMCA in Brazil. Even with losing his eyesight in 2003, he did not let that stop him from working and enjoying his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Danny Ray Reynolds.
He is survived by his loving wife; Diane (Mercer) Reynolds, whom he let keep all stray cats, son; Anthony “Tony” (Joanne) Terrando, daughters; Shannon Reynolds, Judy Terrando, sisters; Helen Murphy, Robin Timberman (Bernie), grandchildren; Madison, Levi, Liam, Lauren, Godchildren; Levi Long, Alexis Tiano, several nieces and nephews, and favorite dog; Jethro.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 12:00-1:00pm. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:00. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Emery to the YMCA in Brazil or the Clay County Humane Society. Burial will take place later.
