Doyne Youngblood, 86 of Center Point, Indiana passed away at Cloverleaf Healthcare Center on June 16, 2021. Doyne was born on September 5, 1934 to Harvey and Mildred (Lasalle) Youngblood. He married Jo Anne Killion on March 13, 1954.

Doyne began working as a young man for Dietz farm. He was known for his good work ethic as well as the quality of his good work. He farmed for many years and worked reclamation for Northern Coal Company. He ended his working career at Rose Hulman in the maintenance department. He enjoyed playing cards, horseshoes and working in his wood shop. Doyne was known as the ‘puzzle man’ and worked hundreds of jigsaw puzzles in his lifetime. He loved music and played the clarinet in the Brazil Concert Band as well as sang in the church choir. Marching band music was his favorite. Doyne embraced fellowship with his church and family. He was especially proud of his grandchildren.

Doyne was a longtime member of the First United Church of Christ where he had served as a deacon, a trustee and trustee of the cemetery board. He also served as Director of the Farm Bureau and was a member of the 4-H Council.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mildred (Lasalle) Youngblood; siblings: Owen, Melvin and twins Ferrel and Carol; grandson Mark Tiefel, daughter-in-law Donna (Yegerlehner) Youngblood, and son-in-law Clay Tobias.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jo Anne (Killion) Youngblood, a twin sister, Moyne Brown, children: Brenda (Tony) Tiefel, Alan (Krystal) Youngblood, Ruth Tobias; grandchildren: Dan (Dena) Tiefel, Derek (Angela) Youngblood, Jared (Tonya) Freeman, Brent (Meghan) Youngblood, Gary (Andrea) Payne, Jacob (Mykim) Payne, Sarah Tobias, Allison Payne, and Gabriel Youngblood; great-grandchildren: Lexie Freeman, Gage Youngblood, Emily Hinson, Alex Doyne Tiefel, Chloe Youngblood, Emma Gibbs, Ethan Gibbs, Gunner Youngblood and one great, great grandchild recently.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 to 2:00 PM Friday, June 18, 2021 at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 E. 8th Street in Clay City. Private graveside service to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery with Pastor Bob Wilkins presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 6414 S.
