
David “Dave” Butts, 54, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2021, at his home.
Dave was born on April 7, 1967, in Marion, Indiana, the son of Emma and Tom Butts. He graduated, in 1985, from Northview High School. Following high school, he worked for Columbia House in the data center. This sparked his interest in Information Technology (IT). This job afforded him careers with Honda Motors, in St. Marysville, Ohio, Lowes in North Carolina, and then to the Navy Federal Credit Union, in Florida where he worked as the Lead Systems Engineer.
Dave met Twila Boyd in 1997. They were married on August 28, 1999. Dave was an avid motorcyclist, he also participated in and was a supporter of dog charities, rescue centers, and The Bama Bully Rescue. He also was a member of the Wabasher’s Exile League where he competed against many close friends and family in an annual fantasy football league. This past year he competed and won the fantasy championship.
Dave was preceded in death by his step-father Larry Harrison; a brother Doug Harrison; mother-in-law Kathleen Boyd.
Dave is survived by his mother Emma Harrison; father Tom Butts and wife Sally; wife Twila Butts; children: Brittney Shouse, Bryon Cunningham and wife Andrea, and Quanaee Daniels; grandchildren: Symone Daniels, Cyann Cunningham, and DeShawn Cunningham; brothers and sisters: Mark Butts and wife Tricia, Tim Butts and wife Lisa, Julie Riley and husband Mike, and Missy Allen and husband Todd as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 11-1. Services will be held at 1:00pm with Pastor Chris Greg officiating.
