
G. Joyce Navel Evelo Haviland Rollo
April 3, 1941 – July 16, 2021
On Friday July 16, 2021, Gwenda “Joyce” Rollo was freed from this earthly world of pain to join her Mom and Daddy in the arms of our Lord and Savior after a prolonged illness.
Joyce was born on April 3, 1941 in Clinton, Indiana, the daughter of Harold Navel Sr. and Blanche K. Boyer Navel. She was a 1959 graduate of Brazil High School. Her life’s work was a secretary. Joyce worked as a legal secretary in the law offices of Everett and Everett; as a pathology secretary at Terre Haute Medical Laboratory to Doctors Weinbaum, Bloxdorf, and Blum; and at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and later became a member of Holy Rosary Church in Seelyville. Joyce was a lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary #1127 in Brazil where she served as Sargent of Arms, Secretary, Vice President and President. She was a house plant enthusiast and an avid crocheter. Joyce made numerous doilies, baby afghans and all kinds of things, especially for her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her only child, daughter, Andrea M. Colclasure of Brazil; grandsons, Jason R. and Kelly Colclasure of Avon; Ryan M. Colclasure and Stephanie of Brazil; granddaughter, Leah S. Martin and Michael of Terre Haute; sisters, Tonya (Toni Sue) and Claude West of Terre Haute, Mila Navel Grey and Randy of Brazil; Susan Ward Schultz and Wayne of Jasonville; Janie Navel Miller and Dave of Brazil; and a brother, Harold Navel, Jr. of Brazil. Grandchildren, Brenden Martin, Addie Colclasure, Jakob Colclasure, Sheila Colclasure, Zakary Colclasure, Caleb Martin and Maverick (Mack) Colclasure. She was special “Grandma Aunt Joyce” to Colin West, Chasity West Archer and Adam West. And nieces and nephews, Carla J. Hale, Alyssa and Megan Miller, Nathan and Jessica Navel, Jordan Nelson and Haleigh Navel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold, Sr. and Blanche Navel and a sister, Harriet Navel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 PM Friday, July 23, 2021 in Annunciation Catholic Church, 19 N. Alabama Street, Brazil with Father John Hollowell officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday July 22, 2021 in French Funeral Home, 421 E.
