
Alexander Samuel Rodie, age 32, of West Terre Haute died unexpectedly on July 22, 2021.
Alex was born on March 2, 1989 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Frank and Eleanor Rodie. He graduated from West Vigo High School in 2008. From a young age, Alex showed a keen interest in history. His zest for learning and passion for history led him to Indiana State University, where he earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in history. As an undergrad, Alex also minored in psychology. He was passionate about politics, especially topics concerning fair treatment, equality, and human rights.
Alex is survived by his wife Victoria Donna-Rodie, who was his soulmate and the absolute love of his life. He is also survived by his parents, his sister Sarah Andreasen and her husband Nathan, and his niece Corbyn of Georgia; his mother-in-law Dora Garraton of Clinton; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nina and Gordon Clemmons and niece and nephew Aurelia and Harrison of North Carolina; brother-in-law Joshua Donna of Clinton; and a large extended family.
On Saturday, July 31 at 1:00 PM at 1128 Lower Sandford Road in West Terre Haute, friends and loved ones are invited to gather at a Celebration of Life to remember Alex.
Greiner Funeral Home in Terre Haute, Indiana was entrusted with Alex’s cremation arrangements.
Alex will be remembered by all who love him for his kindness, compassion, and his generous heart. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his honor to an organization that he felt strongly about such as the Terre Haute Humane Society, ACLU, The Trevor Project, The Innocence Project, and the Government Accountability Project.
