Ruth M. Escott, 90, of Brazil, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 in Gibson Family Hospice with her family by her side. She was born on August 11, 1930 in Knightsville, Indiana, the daughter of Jesse and Edna (Cox) Morlan. Ruth was a laboratory technician for the Pfizer Company for 31 years up to her retirement.

Ruth attended Knightsville Elementary School and Van Buren High School

She loved to crochet baby blankets, work on puzzles, make fudge, angle food cakes, prepare turkey & noodles, bake beans and dressing. Ruth loved to cook for her family on the holidays. She loved to watch and cheer on the Indiana Pacers and play games on her computer.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Edna Morlan; a sister, Lucille Allen; 5 brothers, Earl, Everett, William, Elmo and Ernest Morlan.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Earl Tracy Escott and wife, Debbi of Brazil; their children, Jessica and David Bowman and Ashlyn and Tim Escott; son, Michael E. Escott and wife, Lori of Brazil, their children, Michael T. Escott and wife, Traiema and Steven Escott and wife, Mandi, grandchildren, Caleb, Zachary, Eliana Escott, step children, Taylor Dove and Allie Dobson; grandchildren, Easton Minger and Ryan Fortune; Son, John Escott and wife Karen of Brazil; children, Rachal Short, Kimmy and John Nolan, Autumn and Jimmy Shake and Dakota and Autumn Escott; grandchildren, Raven, Kenny, Cole, Boston, Trevor, Tyler, Cecily, Elias, Lillian, Braden, Lilly and Ryder; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Monday, August 2, 2021 at Calcutta Cemetery with Jimmy Shake officiating. Burial will follow. No visitation is scheduled.
