George Lewis Cunningham, a truck driver of over 28 years, a resident of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away August 23, 2021 at the age of 57. George was born January 24, 1964, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Mary (Butler) Summers and the late Lewis Albert Cunningham. George joined the United States Army after graduating from high school.

George is also survived by son children Bryon (Andrea) Cunningham of Indiana, and children Velisha (Mario) Moss of North Bethesda, Maryland, Crystal Cunningham of Marathon, Florida, George (Shalisa) Cunningham Jr. of Jacksonville, FL with his wife Maryanne (Brown) Cunningham; and his daughter Alexis Cunningham of Ypsilanti, MI; and 8 grandchildren; a large family of sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will all miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Albert Cunningham and sister Tesla (Cunningham) Ellington.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Allen Chapel AME Church, 218 Crawford Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47807 at 1:00p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00a.m. with services beginning at 1pmuntil service time.
