Evelyn Louise Saunders, 89, of Brazil, began her new life adventure at 11:35 P.M. on October 5, 2021.
Evelyn was born October 5 ,1932 in Brazil as the daughter of Maurice and Violet (Nobles) Nees and sister of Estyle Nees.
Evelyn attended the Brazil city school system and graduated from the commercial course in 1951. She went on to Harold’s Beauty Academy and La Salle Interior Design. To pursue her hobby of arts, she studied oil painting under Winfield Stiles and Evelyn James of Brazil.
While her husband served in the armed forces, she worked in the Clay County Treasures Office. Later she also worked at 3-D department store in Brazil as department head of the domestics department.
After her marriage to Ronald Saunders, she established a gift shop (Cottage Crafts) in Mansfield and became active in the Covered Bridge Festival for over 30 years.
In her early married years she attended E.U.B. church and took active part being Sunday School teacher of preschool children, youth counselor and Communion Stewardess and church secretary. In recent years, she attended family worship center serving as a Communion Stewardess.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, son, Dennis Rosser, and favorite aunt, Florence Nees whom she cared for in her aunts later years.
She is survived by a daughter Diana Rollings (Ken), and two grandsons, Lee and Jeremy Rollings.
All services will be private.
A favorite saying that Evelyn lived by was “Do not look down on anyone unless you are helping them up.”
