Marjorie Ruth Tanner, 94, of Seelyville, went peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at her home, with her family by her side. She was born on February 5, 1927, in Vigo County to Theodore Roosevelt Jeffers and Lorena (Fagg) Jeffers.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Jim Sivertson, Lori Smith and husband Mark, all of Georgia, Bob Sivertson and wife Rita, Tim Tanner and wife Kathy, and Lynda Prouse and husband Tony, all of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Dustin, Christina, Jared, Siera, Ethan, Colt, Carrie, Kevin, Bobby, Frank, and Leslee; one sister, Jean Zurcher; a brother, Kenny Jeffers; two sisters-in-law, Betty Jeffers and Phyllis Jeffers; several great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard “Dick” Tanner; four brothers, three sisters-in-law and grandchildren, Shawn Robert Sivertson, and twins Amber and Andrew Hammond.
Marjorie graduated from Glenn High School. She worked at Columbia House, retiring after nineteen years of dedicated service. Marjorie was a member of Seelyville United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening, especially in her flower beds. She also liked to paint. Most of all, Marjorie loved to dote on her grandchildren and great-grandbabies.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Brett Wilson officiating. Marjorie will be laid to rest next to her husband in Roselawn Memorial Park.
