Melissa Ann Lynch, 52, passed peacefully on the morning of October 8, 2021 in her home in Terre Haute Indiana, after a 4 yr. struggle with end stage renal disease. She was born October 10, 1968 in Groton CT, the Daughter of Charles Leroy Coffey and Jane Marie (Slusser) Atkinson Pesetti.

Melissa Graduated from North Vigo Highschool, Class of 1988. Later, she attended Ivy Tech Community College where she graduated with an Associates in Graphic Arts.

Melissa was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James W. and Mary (Hanley) Slusser and her paternal grandparents Charles and Berniece (Miller) Coffey. She also Follows her aunt, Jesse (Coffee) Henderson and her cousins Jason Slusser, Gary Coffey, and Tressie Ferrington, and a 1st cousin once removed Rachel Norris.

Survivors include her husband Shawn Lynch, ex-husband James Hoback, Son and daughter-in-law Jedidiah Douglas and Erika (Holgerson) Williams, grandchildren Perrin, Marcus and Prudence, son James Franklin Hoback, her best friend of 40 yrs, Tammy French, and her beloved dog, Lacey.

Others mourning her loss include her mother, Jane (Louis Pesetti), and sisters, Shannon (Bryan) Lenderman and Erica (John) Leschorn. She will be missed by her 10 nieces and nephews, Rose, Sarah, Jabyn, Ammon, Malachi, Kira, Gabriel, Hannah, Margret, and Abigail, and the many other children she showed love to during her lifetime.

When Missy wasn’t helping others, she spent her time in local theater groups (Including the Terre Haute Community Theatre) or singing. She was known for her artistic abilities. She could always be found singing, painting, or sewing with a little one. Several of her Rocks can be found throughout Terre Haute and are often reported on the FB page Terre Haute Rocks

A memorial in her honor will be held at Hawthorn Park in Terre Haute IN, at the Burkeybyle shelter and amphitheater on Oct 16. Services will be held from 1-2pm and will be followed with a carry-in supper and karaoke celebration from 2:30-6:00pm in the same location.

Flowers may be sent to the following location prior to the services. Please have delivery scheduled no later than Friday Oct 15th to ensure they make it to the memorial event. Also , if you want a specific family member to received them after the service, please be sure to include their name on the card.

Melissa’s family would like to thank all of her care givers, nurses, and aids that helped her through the past several weeks. A special thank you to Tammy, Chelsea, Ashley, Angie, Bambi, and Brooklyn from Heart to Heart Hospice. We do not have words to show our gratitude. We also wish to express our heartfelt thanks to those friends and extended family members who came to visit with her and show her love in her last days.
